Science in the Garden

This past fall, as part of our ongoing mission to increase awareness about water conservation and the ongoing megadrought in the Southwest, we were lucky enough to participate in community outreach events twice at the Arizona Desert Botanical Gardens.  Outreach has always been a critical part of our mission; this is now our second year collaborating with the DBG,  and we are extremely grateful for the opportunity to reach a wider audience.

On August 2nd, we presented our ongoing research in developing an atmospheric moisture harvester optimized for water production in extremely arid environments, like our native Sonoran Desert, at the annual DBG Flashlight Nights – Conservation Night.  We presented alongside other agencies and groups who are focused on conservation.

On August 23rd, we presented our project at the inaugural Desert Botanical Garden Flashlight Nights Science Fair alongside several other sustainability-centered teen-created STEM projects from around the Valley.

Thank you to the Desert Botanical Gardens for hosting these outreach events and thank you for your continuing support!
